Being the lack of sleep this past two weeks, I’ve finally come around and have posted sessions from a week and a half ago. It was Hannah’s first time, and she did awesome. I wish I was in a better frame of mind to draw that night, but it is what it is. I’ve been looking at some of the figure drawing sessions other artists are posting up and I have to say, it appears they are doing double and triple sessions of the model in the same pose. Not sure, if that is something that could be arranged with our group, but if I get to San Francisco again, I will definitely want to head to some of their drawing groups to see how they manage to make such killer pieces of art. Later today, I will post up some progress on my landscape. YES! I’ve been able to get some more work on it. Due to it’s rather large size, it can be intimidating at times.

Artist Statement
Cheap thrills, fast cars, faster women and sex n’ violence around every corner. It’s like a sinister “B” movie that’s playing out in my imagination. Like the cheap paperback you read to escape the drab, dull life that you’ve resigned to accept. You fantasize about barreling down an empty highway, full throttle and running on fumes. No destination in particular as long as it’s anywhere but here. Whether you self implode or slam head first into a brick wall, it’s the thrill of knowing these are the last fleeting moments of your life that drives you. There is no tomorrow, just you and a pile of empty beer cans in a shady hotel on the lower side of town. And oh yeah, a knock on the door. - All Art & Words are Copyright ©2008, Doug Clarke. Throughout history, artists have always had patrons. If you truly dig the art I create and post here and would like to donate, send a contribution to keep paints, brushes and canvas in my hands. I'll do my part to keep creating new work to post on here and sell.
